Recently,I have bought a Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar.Quality is wonderful,no words about it.But i have some doubts in my mind.I know that this is a worn finish guitar.Back scratches and others are okey, they are exactly same when compared the other Kurt C.Jaguars on the internet. But there are rusts on my guitar which i cannot see on the other Jaguar's in the internet. Is there something wrong with my guitar? What is the explantation of this?I'm waiting for your helps;dear Fender users, and dear Fender authorizers.Thanks. Image Image Maybe it is an extra worn,i'm just being hypochondriac ? Image There was also rust on here, but i cleaned it.It was easy to do,i just used a moist cloth. Image

So you feel that your relic'd guitar may be defective because based on internet picture comparisons, yours has excessive relic on it, so much so that you felt compelled to undo some of it? Clearly, "being hypochondriac" is not the appropriate phrase here.

I don't understand your question. If you mean, am I saying not to dwell on such a thing with any degree of seriousness, the answer is a big yes.

Some reliced guitars have rust on the metal components to "enhance" the look. Some reliced guitars do not. I don't believe the Cobain guitars come with pre-rusted components. Could be an issue I guess.

Yeah, I was a little confused. You bought a KC Jaguar, quality is great, but you are having doubts?

That's the diff between "road worn" and "relic." It can have rust. The photos that the retailers have is "upon arrival" or supplied by Fender. Once rust has started it will continue. So if the item is in the retailers warehouse for a while, or the store (where the A/C will cool the metal and microscopic condensation will form,) you can expect additional "aging."

That's why, if I wanted the same sound as that guitar, I would buy a Classic Player and mod the electronics myself.

Thats true.In fact,i have seen in some close-look photos, there are rust on guitar, its part of relic, but in my guitar it was so much. And yes,it is waited in shop like 1 month. But i also think this is a poor workmanship case.I think like worker pour out the liquid that they use for rust effect. But anyway, now i feel more comfortable about this,i'm just little concerned about the pick ups.I hope that rust wont damage them.

I can't speak for the pickups. Me personally, I would have relic'd everything EXCEPT the pickups and anything that the strings touch (on a semi-permanent basis) like bridge saddles and tuners.

It's really tough for me to comment on this because I like shiny and classy. Mine are CAR, LPB, and Pewter. But if I had a sunburst, I don't know, might go for a "used but not abused" look. Kinda depends on the underlying wood grain, if that makes sense.

I think that, if you like that look, Fender did a great job on that guitar. They have this down to a science. But I still would have done those couple things a little different.
