Hello all, I'm new, do pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I found a Fender f-65 (snowflake inlays probably from 75 or 76), though the body is in excellent shape with a few minor dings, the headstock has broken off almost entirely with exception of the trussrod cover (pics on request.)

I could just throw this guitar that I found away, but due to it's age and the fact that the rest of the body is in good condition, I really can't do such a horrid thing. I asked a repair shop and they confirmed what I thought, that the repairs may cost more than what the guitar is worth, but they suggested finding a replacement neck so it would cost less.

So, if you have a bust f-65, but the neck is fine, give me a quote.

Thank you,

D

The only way Fender will replace the neck is through an authorized service center and you are correct, it probably will be pricey.

You could go through a company like Warmoth and have them build you a neck but it will cost and it is technically illegal to put the Fender Logo on the headstock.

Or hang onto the body and keep your eyes open on CL, ebay, pawn shops, yard sales, etc...

Sorry, that's an acoustic, You can probably scratch Warmoth off the list.

You may also try posting here http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewforum.php?f=17 since that is the forum dedicated to Fender acoustic instruments.
