I recently purchased a fender blacktop and made a few mods to it. The guitar is in near mint condition and was wondering if by applying mods i increased value or decreased value. I know it's mex model and resale prob isn't that high to begin with.

My buddy said that i'm an idiot because true fender dudes and dudets want everything original. Personally i like a tricked out guitar and was wondering what your opinions might be. How much would you pay for this guitar?

Enjoy your mods, they will not increase the resale value of your guitar. Your friend is right, be happy. :|

I'm sure MANY players would do similar to what you've done if they owned the guitar themselves. Yet, in today's market, the new anthem seems to be, "I wish you left it all original." This is not because the next buyer would genuinely like it better stock. Rather, it is an angle to get it even cheaper than if you did in fact, leave it alone. Even totally stock, there's never going to be any collector's value and they are a dime a dozen. Couple this with our wonderful economy and you can see where this is going if you ever did try to resell it. As has already been said, happily enjoy your guitar.
