The original Jagmasters were made between 1996 and 1998 under the Vista Series name and were made in Japan. They were a 24" scale. These ones are highly regarded. Squier brought back the Jagmaster in 2002 with a 25.5" scale. These were made in China. They discontinued the 25.5" scale in 2005 and in 2007 brought back the 24" scale, still made in China. I own a 2008 model. I am very happy with this guitar. I like the neck and its nice and light. I don't mind the pickups but some say they are too muddy. To each his own I guess. If you own one, you tell us if you think its good.

Anybody with a jagmaster notice that it is hard to keep on leg while sitting. It just keeps slipping off because of the shape. I guess Ill have to use a strap to keep it on.

Offset body takes a little getting used to.
