Hey there,

I bought a used Fender Mustang Pawn Shop Lake Placid Blue a month ago and I love the guitar. Very versatile and I like the short scale and small shape of it.

However, I find the guitar extremely noisy. There is a constant and loud "hum" when I am not touching the strings or any of the metal parts of the guitar. Much more noisy than my Telecaster American Standard, my Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite and my Danelectro Dead on 67 Agent Orange.

My Mustang Pawn Shop also produces a clicking sound when I switch the Gibson style switch located underneath the neck humbucker.

Do you think there might be a problem with the guitar? Do you think it could be a grounding issue? Do you have the same problem with your Mustang Pawn shop?

Thanks guys!
Frederick

Bad wiring and poor soldering are the most common causes which make your guitar humming so nasty.

I strongly advise you to take off the pickguard and check the ground wires.

Otherwise contact a professional luthier or your local Fender dealer.

I am having the same issue with my MIM Blacktop Jaguar H/H (posted previously) Was corrected once (Toggle switch) but has now returned, so it needs to go back for repair.

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

I have another question related to my Pawn Shop Mustang issue. Many of you say I can return it under warranty. My question is: the guitar was used when I bought it and I don't know where it was bought new. What can I do in this case? Does the warranty follow the guitar when someone buys it used? How long is the warranty (1 year???) and how can I do to send it under warranty (where can I send the guitar?) Who will repair it? Any shop that sells Fender products??

Thank you for your help!
Frederick
