I want to upgrade to locking tuners for my Modern Player Marauder. Any suggestions as to what brand or model # I could use that would not require any major modifications to the headstock ? :?:

What makes them unusual?
Just wondering.

The tuners are standard. Nothing special. I have read other posts indicating an improvement with the guitar staying in tune by adding locking tuners.

If you are using the vibrato bar, locking tuners and a lube like Nut Sauce, which is what I use, are critical to tuning stability.

I have a Hwy 1 Strat that comes with non-locking tuners. The non-locking tuners worked well until I went freaky on the whammy bar. I installed the Fender Deluxe F locking tuners and now I can go freaky on the whammy bar without too much fuss, sometimes zero fuss. If I don't use the whammy bar, the thing is glued to pitch now! The locking tuners have a better tone and better sustain too! This was a huge relief (less time tuning, more time playing) and added a whole new dimension of sound to my strat.

Here's a link to the locking tuners I purchased:

I have some guitars with Locking Tuners, Locking Nuts & Locking Bridges.
And, they do stay in tune. Gotta love'em :D
