I need to replace the nut on JG26s because luthier filed the nut too low and intonation is awful and sounds too flat. which nut I should buy, I was watching tusq and I can`t find fender acoustic nut, I measured the nut width, hight, length and E to E spacing and close I found is martin style.

my nut thick 6 mm, length 42,97 almost 43 mm, height 8,20 mm and E to E spacing is 35 mm or 35,10 mm. i can`t be 100% accurate i don`t have digital caliper it`s old mitutoyo caliper.

martin style

thick 5,79 length 43,41 mm, height 9,17, and E to E spacing 35 mm, slotted nut
can I use this as replacement
i know i could try to put shim under old nut but i don`t have anything close to the nut material or use super glue and backing soda, but i don`t have nut slotting files to file the grooves again
thank you

Based on your questions and you not having the basic tools/components to undertake a job like this, you may want to find a COMPETENT tech to successfully resolve your situation.

Easy way to fix by Dan Erlewine . I do that few times and it work.

1- With file , remove some dust from the top of the nut , keep it .
2- Put some dust in the too deep slot and put a light drop of crazy glue . Wait until very dry.
3- File the slot at the proper deep

Dont forget to put some painter tape to protect your peg head , fingerboard and neck . And also put painter tape around the nut to keep glue/ dust in the slot

Nut is not easy to replace and if you never do that, better to give th job to a good luthier , It is a $60 job
