Hi gang, I was wondering if you can shoot flaming walls of fuzz and distortion with Enforcers? My stubby little fingers really like the idea of the short scale Jags and Pawn Shop Mustangs, not to mention all the aesthetic mojo they have. I've looked at demos on YT, but nobody really demos these guitars with more than a little overdrive. Thanks in advance!

Yes. Get the Classic Special HH Jaguars.
Double humbuckers are hot.
I checked them out in person
and almost bought one,
instead I got a vintage Jaguar.

You will love the new HH Jaguars.
Make sure you get the right pickups.
There are at least three or four models of HH.
Toppscore :)

yeah, the mustang special's got a ton of output in humbucker modes. the single coils are voiced quite nicely too, and handle distortion surprisingly well.
i wish i had a sample to give you of the tones (i recorded a full track using only the pickup settings for different tones), but alas i probly don't use as much distortion as you might wanna hear either, and i often go to pains to mix so the distortion becomes part of the background noise to leave just an apparently-clean guitar tone in front.
only thing you really have to be careful of is really laying into the things, i don't see how anybody can pound those things without feelin like strings are gonna fly everywhere! but i also use heavier picks, that might be problem #1...

With pods & pedal and amps and speakers and
solid state technology and digital signal dynamics;
You can make any sound from anything.
Start with the guitar you like.

well it's still dependant on the pickup's output. a low powered pickup will never sound like a high output single coil no matter how much junk you run it through. you'll pick up gobs of line noise before you pick up a flaming wall of distortion. mostly cause the line noise will wholly overpower the distortion's tone by the end of the chain :P
but i can for sure say that you can't "make any sound with anything". my Jaguar Dragster pickups most certainly can't come close to the raw power of the Mustang's Enforcers. flip side, the Enforcers can't come anywhere near the classic pristine clean of the Cyclone's jaguar pickups (at least not in humbucker mode). processors HAVE come a long way, but sometimes you're just polishing a turd while it's still steaming.

The Enforcers are good.
Jaguar Dragsters are close to Cyclones? I will have to investigate. Interesting.
Jaguar reissues do ship SS versons, as well.
Thank you for the info. Toppscore :)

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. This post went unreplied to for so long I had given up on it. Although to be honest, I should really invest in a better amp before I buy another guitar. Right now I'm playing through an old beat up Marshall 8240 Valvestate hybrid combo, which leaves a lot to be desired. But my with all this in mind, my next guitar will almost undoubtedly be a Jag HH or PS Mustang.

Hey Frank, have you thought of swapping pickups between your Jag and Mustang? The idea of an MIJ Jag with Enforcers sounds intriguing.

I have a CP Jag HH and I don't really care for the enforcers. They don't have much personality and seem kind of bland to me, but I knew that going into my purchase. I bought this model for the blendable coil splitting capabilities, and even though it weighs more than my Mustang, for some reason it's much more comfortable.

lol, that's not what i was drivin at... they're definitely 2 different animals. just comparing how all the different pickups at completely different outputs will still sound viciously different until you process them so much your noise floor is overpowering everything else

no, i also bought the mustang primarily for the switching. after looking at HOW that switching was attained, my Jag and Mustang are sitting safe as stock. and i DO love how the Dragsters sound in the Jag, it's definitely its own guitar, it's almost painfully responsive to my SansAmp settings.
