Recently purchased a 50's Roadworn Strat :D
The pick guard is quite a distance from the body at the top of the guitar above the pickups. (Buckled?) :(

So much in fact I could get my little finger under the pick guard and see the underneath of the bridge pickup! Is this normal on a Roadworn? The pickup adjusting screws are also beginning to pop out above all the pickups, so any pickup height adjustment can not be done. When resting my hand on the pick guard to play guitar, the pick guard depresses down considerbily, moving the bridge pickup. Is this why the pickups are so noisy?? :(

A friend of mine who plays guitar well said that the action was bad and the tremolo poorly setup??

HELP!?

Any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

If you are not knowledgeable about guitar setup, stop and take it somewhere. The body may be routed out (if it was bought used), or you have a pickguard that needs to be replaced. As for the pickup adjustment screws, they are mounted on small pieces of surgical tubing, which will dry out over time. This is easily fixed with more cut off pieces of tubing, or you can buy a spring kit and mount them on springs. :)

+1

I usually opt for the latter since coil steel springs seldom dry out.

Also, it's imperative that all of the wiring beneath the pickguard is correctly bundled and placed in such a way that it lays precisely in it's intended channel routed in the body to prevent the pickguard from pooching up.

Thank you for the replies and feedback. Much appreciated + helpful :D

After speaking to Fender directly, they very kindly replaced the faulty guitar and I am now rocking with a new awesome roadworn guitar!

Thank you Fender and thank you Leo for creating such an awesome guitar design, where would the world be without music created on the "Fender' guitar :D
