Nope. It's unnecessary on a Blacktop, anyway.

S^$%.........i had already ordered it.............you SURE it dosnt fit lol?

Im having a really hard time setting it up, i can live with a little string buzz and a little floppiness (expected from the Jazzys) but strings keep jumping out and the string tension is looser than Lindsey Lohan. Can't even perform a simple pull off on bottom E without the sting coming off and below the fret board.

I really like this guitar, just the bridge is ruining it for me, if this Buzz stop doesn't work then I suppose im ripping the entire bridge system off and putting something else in.

It needs a setup, man. It shouldn't buzz and there shouldn't be any floppiness.

The Blacktop's tremolo is moved up closer the bridge than an AVRI to create a steeper string break angle. That's exactly what a Buzzstop does, so even if it fits (and I don't think it does), it's redundant. Although IMO a Buzzstop is completely unnecessary on any Jazzmaster.

So some interesting results -

The Buzz stop and Mustang bridge came in yesterday

The Buzz stop DOES fit, fits perfectly

Prior to delivery I had spent a long time fiddling with the Jazzy bridge and just couldn’t seem to get it right, to many issues.
- Depending the height of the bridge I kept getting a sharp tin sound when playing on the 7th or 12 fret positions
- String buzz
- Strings popping out of saddles
- The set ups never lasted more than a week, the saddle poles kept coming loose.

Yesterday I popped the Buzz Stop on, popped the New bridge in….now aside from some string buzz due to the action being to low ALL the previous issues have stopped.

I haven't even set the bridge action nor fully intonated the set up yet……………Actually I was kinda surprised, the intonation is pretty damn close, if I wanted to be lazy I think I could just leave it for now!

There is defiantly more string tension but when I pull of on high E string it still pulls under the Fret board…….Oh well…..Jazzy aren't meant for shredding anyways lol!

So I guess I could say that the Jazzy bridge defeated me lol, I just couldn’t get it to work. Perhaps a professional could have set it up to alleviate these issues, I set up all my other guitars just fine? However reading a lot of other reviews on the net Im not spending all the time getting locktite or nail polish to lace the saddles with every time I want to set it up……ect

This solution worked for me and I would recommend it for any other black top users who might be having similar issues!.
I just love my Jazzy a little more now!

And thanks for the replies HP, I appreciate it!
