I have had a LPB MP Marauder since February. It's a tremendous guitar: good sounding, good looking, good playing. It's nice to look at, like a piece of fine art. The quality is impeccable. My question is: Are the pickups alnico or ceramic? I'm assuming ceramic, but I could be wrong. More expensive guitars sometimes come with ceramics (Mexican Standards) and some cheaper guitars (CV) come with alnicos, so they could be either one. Whatever they are, they sound GREAT, especially the Jazzmaster pickup and the triplebucker in humbucker mode. And the front coil on the triplebucker provides a sharp, trebly, ice pick sound which really cuts through. It's a very versatile guitar and I recommend one to anybody who wants something a little different but wants a Fender. So is it alnicos or ceramics? I haven't taken mine apart and won't until I need to, so I haven't seen the bottoms of the pickups.

Also, is the Jazzmaster pickup in the MP Marauder a true Jazzmaster style pickup or a P90? The J Mascis Jazzmaster has P90s in it, which makes me wonder if I don't have a P90 as well.

The original Marauders were a piece of crap compared to the Modern Players.

IMO I'd expect from Fender to release USA-made versions of that series. They did a MIM Tornado in 1998 followed by USA-made editions of the instrument featuring either a pair of humbuckers or dual Black Dove P90s soapbars a couple of years later.

Possibly a Pawn Shop version, maybe with a humbucker in the neck (I would much prefer the Jazzmaster/P90 pickup that it has in it to a humbucker) or something to make them different. If they do introduce a Pawn Shop Marauder, expect them to cancel the Modern Player Marauder.
