i have a 1977 musicmaster bass that is all original.the paint is two tone blue it is a dark blue in the center of the body and a lighter blue on the edges. the paint is also very checked.i removed the pick guard to see if the guitar had been repainted at some time in its lifetime but it seems to be stock from the factory with a sticker in place. can anyone tell me if they have seen this color combo before?did fender offer this as a custom color combo? any help would be great!!!! thank you frank the guitar guy

Refin. Not a Fender paint job unless it was done as an employees guitar, then it might be possible. Pics are always helpful though.

I'm not so sure......

I believe I saw one of these basses listed for sale on Ebay about a year ago.

It didn't look like a re-fin to me.
