I purchased a used blacktop jazz master.

The serial number behind the neck is MX10255325.

And all the other stuffs came in the gig back, is a a tag for "genuine Fender... !Strat guitar! With a serial number bar code sticker which says M02416941."
Then I realized I got the manual of Fender Frontman 25R.
Then I noticed the top is not made of one piece but three (I've seen cheap guitars do that, but this is my very first fender with the transparent top, so I can't really tell)

The pictures are here:

(I don't know how to upload pictures in this forum. Forgive my stupidity :( )

I tried the "guitardaterproject.org" for serial check, and it doesn't show any match.

I hope experts here could help me, please.?

First off - rest easy, you have a very nice looking Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster HS that unfortunately the person who sold it to you just threw a bunch of wrong tags and manuals into the gig bag. Hopefully the trem arm fits your guitar.

Now lets take your questions one-by-one.

First the serial number - those guitar dater websites are now almost 3 years behind the times. Fender changed their serial number format in 2010. Made in Mexico Fenders change over their serial number decals about mid-year (call it approximately July) so in mid-summer 2010 Fender changed from "MZ9xxxxxx" numbers to "MX10xxxxxx" numbers. This is an aside, but things were even more confusing for USA-built Fenders - they went from "Z9xxxxxx" numbers in 2009 (with some overlap into early 2010) to numbers that just read "10xxxxxx" (with the "10" part looking almost exactly like the other 6 digits) for the first 3 months of 2010 to numbers that read "US10xxxxxx" in March/April of 2010. All things being equal your guitar is from early in the Blacktop run as those "MX10xxxxxx" serial numbers were used from say July 2010 through June 2011.

Second, as I mentioned the seller must have just grabbed some Fender manuals and stuck them in the gig bag - an error on their part.

Third, you aren't typically going to find a Fender with a one-piece body. That happened pretty rarely back in the day and still can happen on occasion, but typically most USA Fenders are 2-piece or 3-piece bodies and some of the MIMs can be up to 5-piece bodies. I believe you can specify a one-piece body if you're ordering a Custom Shop guitar, and it carries a price. If your Blacktop is only a 3-piece body I would consider that to be pretty good.

At any rate, except for the manuals, you've gotten a legit Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster.

I am really grateful for such a quick reply! I assume my questions must be very uneducated. But with your reply, I sure can rest easy now.

I was a a little more than paranoid and suspicious-it wouldn't have been if there weren't any tags or serials at all.

(I asked around the dealer shops, and they say for Blacktop made in Mexico doesn't even carry the certificate tags at all or whatever <-I am not convinced because they are the one sold this to a under-aged customer with bunch of crap that doesn't go together.)

Anyways, I can relax now. With this purchase being my risky invest while my being unemployed at the moment, I was VERY serious about this guitar and I hope to find this guitar's charm soon enough (I am clueless about the sound of this Jazzmaster and already missing Edwards Les Paul -E-LP-92SD-I sold, to buy this one)

God bless Fender, and you, John C. Thanks again.

I got a strat tag with my Blacktop Jaguar FSR .Not really a problem in the vast range of things so just keep playing. Blacktops come with a gig bag as original equipment so often they throw one in as part of the deal ,at least they have twice so far with a blacktop strat ,that came with no tags at all, to my Jaguar .No-one is going to fake a blacktop when for a bit more effort you can fake a 58 strat
