I think it wasn't an obvious case but I guess up till now its been screwing in everyones head. But anyway my, or everyones main concern is: CAN THE BUZZ STOP THE KILLING OF MY PLAYING?

now my only option i only know run into this:

my classic player has the adjusto-matic bridge, should I change for another one or a better one? buzzstoppers, or whatever mechanical usage for that term, is not my answer.
don't get me wrong, i know it really works, but i strongly want my jazzmaster play naturally! and of course, to play behind the bridge for that awesome chime noises. SONIC DEATH!

p.s.
Do mastery bridges fit in? cause either way, i'm not buying it with that kind of price. those m1 bridge for cp is outrageous.

Also I've heard that the neck of the classic player is barely troubled that it COULD supports the buzz along. I'm not sure, just what I heard. And I hope to god I won't have to get it re-fretted nicely.

so yeah, first to help me gets to play in my band

It won't fit the Classic player. The Trem is too close to the bridge.

so how the hell am i suppose to do to get rid of the buzz? jam a quarter underneath the trem block or budge in some brillo pads to keep it clean? (non-hypothetically speaking)

don't know, I have a Classic Player Jaguar and the bridge does not buzz. Of course you need to play with string gauge 10 and higher. It's not a guitar designed for playing metal.

A Mastery bridge will fit. But I don't like the price of those as well as the limited intonation adjustments.

I am researching this currently as a new Jazzmaster owner (Classic Player Special-2009 ish)

I have read that some models (maybe later) came with a spring that keeps the saddles from buzzing. I have this spring on my Epiphone SG and it does not buzz. BUT-I do not have one on my Gibson Les Paul and it does not buzz.

So, it might be possible to simply order one of these springs from fender.

However, it seems like a solid and cheap solution is to apply some of the BLUE Loctite to the threads. This is a special "Metal Glue" and the Blue version (#242) is such that the screws can be adjusted when you need to change intonation later by breaking the bond. (semi permanent bond)

Do not use the Red Loctite unless you want to replace the bridge later.

I hope this helps. When I change my strings, get a better look at the bridge and perhaps use the Loctite, I will report back. I am also curious about the Roller bridge sold by Guitarfetish.com. Its under $30 but I really want to keep my Jazzmaster stock. I don't mind a few quirks here and there but I suspect the buzz is dampening the natural tone of the guitar.

Fender should really address this issue publicly. If they issued several years of guitars without the springs, they should make it right. Or if they made a crappy bridge, they should make it right.

Perhaps someone from Fender can chime in on this?

Thanks-
JC

The classic solution on Jazzmaster (& Jaguar) bridge problems is to shim the neck.

Why don't you just get the spring from Stewmac http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_Tune-o-matic_parts/Nashville_Tune-o-matic_Saddle_Retainer_Clips.html for $3.53. See if they work before spending tons of money.

Or contact fender for some replacement springs (or bridge assembly) consumerrelations@fender.com

I have the Classic Player Jaguar with adjustomatic bridge. Bridge buzzed like crazy. Fender told me to take to an authorized dealer who then charged me for a set up even though it should be under warrenty. Still buzzed like crazy. As last resort before taking it back, I used clear nail polish at the intonation blocks and screws. Plays just fine now and very quiet. Decided to keep it and love it. :D
