:) my fender squirestrat sounds great in clean drive but in high gain the whole guitar becomes alive with lots of anoying feedback is this due to the single coil pick ups or is it the price you pay for the cheeper range of guitars.

Maybe try lowering your pickups with the set screws.?? :?

What you should do is take off your pickguard and shield the back of it and the body cavity with copper tape. That will reduce alot of the problem.

That or get quieter pickups. Or both.
