......not use a Toronado string-through bridge stock on the Mustang Special??? Such a great guitar with such a terrible eyesore of a bridge when you currently have another that fits the body and pickguard perfectly, looks incredible, and functions wonderfully.

Well, I changed that ill-fitted Strat hardtail to a Toronado which also sports a lower profile Wasn't sure how things would work out with the baseplate height difference but the mod was simple, not drop-in simple, but easy enough. One weird issue was the mounting holes on the bridgeplate. The 2 holes behind saddles were countersunk while the 3 in front were not causing problems adjusting intonation will arise. I countersunk mine nice and slow, no problemo, but strange nonetheless.

So visually, I'd say the improvement was astound but most importantly, everything setup so much better, just sorta fell into place without any struggle due to the new, lower-profile bridge. Setup before was a pain before comparatively speaking, HUGE IMPROVEMENT ALL AROUND! I've posted it on several forums and the response in unanimously positive. If you're offering hardtail only, you'd do well to offer this one.

Lastly, how about a JM/Jag-sized Special with Trem option in the near future? Would be so goooooood! Please!!

The revision A parts list for the Mustang Specials now lists a Fender vintage hardtail bridge as the replacement bridge for the cheap $@! bridges. This is the part I'll be changing the cheap bridge out for. Each saddle says Fender on it twice, totally adjustable, and better quality = better tone.

Looks sweet... a cool upgrade/mod for sure. I'm contemplating using a tornanado bridge on a vintage duo sonic restoration/hot rod project.

Depends what you are looking for. An old duo/mm bridge will sound twangy, more like a tele. Definitely snappier, with a little more sustain. Toronado is of course more functional.

Nice mod as well, would seem an obvious choice.

Nice work on that. I've actually had some G.A.S. for this guitar and can't wait to try one out.
