I'm guessing this is a Jazzmaster?

Since they are not shipped at full tension, it is very likely they bounced to a neighboring groove during shipment. Post a photo of the full guitar body, at least up to the 12th fret. While you are at it, could you get a width measurement at the 22nd fret?

What is weird, I look at the Vintage Modified on Fender's product page, and they look the same as your photo. When I look at the Vintage Modified Jaguars, they are spaced properly....

It's not mine Art, it's from the pictures in post 1
I assume, by the pickup screws that it is a Jazzmaster and looking closely at it, it does look like the strings have just jumped to a different slot (never understood why they didn't use a plain bridge saddle with a single groove in it. like a strat has

Good question on why. I know Leo never threw anything away if he could find a way to use it. Maybe he ended up with a bunch of truss rods that were the wrong diameter. I'll have to look this one up.

But like I said, I don't see this on the Jaguar photos, just the Jazzmasters. But bear in mind, the quality control is NOT that great on "some" of the Squier models. Some are awesome (my Vintage vibe 60's jazz bass) but some are terrible. Made all over the Pacific Rim.

Even the CIJ reissue Jags and Jazzys had bridge issues because the bridge saddles were cut a smidgeon too narrow. Even the Graph-Tech saddles appear to be modeled after the improper size of the Japanese saddles.
