I'm just startin out learning guitar with help from free on line guitar courses and will also turn to Fenders corses to. Please pardon my lame, I do have a very strong backgrown in the Eng/Tech end of music. But I'm no musician or guitarest ......... maby some time later.

Just for jollies I was tuning my new 2010 or 2011 Japanese Jaguar HH specal in DADGAD to try out a bit of Led Zeppelins "Kashmir". I played hell with not getting the highest D. Iéd get to C# just fine but when I tryed to get the finel upper D I would end up at the very high sharp end nearly D# and could not get centered on the higest D. I wonder why. I even took the string and pulled it up & down hoping that may help if the string was stuck some how. I've had my Jag about 2 weeks and have not changed out its strings.

Also is that odd part on the bridge of a vintage Jag a form of mute? The part you can flip up and it touch the strings with.

Thanks ahead for any help offered
