I got this yesterday. It is a Fender Bullet made at the Fullerton factory circa 1981. Check out the the one piece aluminum pickguard/bridge.

I have the same guitar! But I don't think the pickguard is aluminum.....it will rust when the paint is chipped, so I think it is steel. But in any case, these little guitars are neat just because you don't see them every day.

Thanks! Do you have a photo of your? I'd love to see it. You could be right about the pickguard I'm not sure what kind of metal it made of.

I love this guitar. I think it is really well made for a budget guitar. Love the neck! Both of my bullets have really good necks

Your Bullet is much nicer than mine! Mine has had the neck and body beat pretty bad. The body on these early ones is made of plywood.....which I know because of a large chip on the bottom side LOL. But I bought it CHEAP so I didn't mind. Mine is red as well.

I had one myself. They were designed to be entry level beginner guitars and low cost so are plywood and small scale. However like anything else that is older and not so popular will go up in value since it is a Fender. They were decaled made in USA.

Currently on ebay the BIN for those is 500-800 but you should be able to do better then that since ebay tends to over value sometimes by 2 times actual value but as they say there is a sucker born every minute.

And yes from what I recall the pickguard is steel and the bridge mount is part of it..like a one piece PG/bridge unit.

The pickups look very much like Lace Sensors in appearance but in reality they're Mustang single coils.

There was also a Bullet with dual humbuckers and a pair of push-push buttons.

There was also a later model with 3 single coils and the body was more strat like...a mini strat. That was the one I had in blonde. I have also seen one with a single humbucker in the bridge position.
