There's a better chance that they'll discontinue the Stratocaster than building an original Marauder.

I have a Marauder on order in lake placid blue. I can't wait to get my hands on it! I doubt they'll make any major mods to this model. It would be nice if they would put "Marauder" on the headstock somewhere, though (IMHO).

I am concerned about the "gap" in production between the 2011 and 2012 model years. Guitar Center's website says that they're not going to be delivered until late March. This makes me think that there was a production problem that had to be corrected. I haven't found anything wrong with my guitar so far. I also wonder if the '12 models will say "Marauder" on the headstock. If so, the '11 models will be "Norauders."

Here's an ad that was in an AMS catalog. It shows the Marauder headstock with the name on it. An embellishment for advertising purposes or a standard feature of the 2012 models?

i actually want the design to stay this way... pickups and all (the triplebucker should be the modern marauders characteristic pickup)... i just think it needs more colours and a "marauder" on the headstock... the guitar is just perfect

The Jazzmaster/P90 actually impressed me more than the triplebucker.

If it's successful, it will be offered in more colors. It would look good in Candy Apple Red or a dark green metallic. Or Surf or Seafoam Green or maybe Daphne Blue.

I sent an email to Fender with some questions about the Marauder, and they replied to me and said that it is "very popular." This is why they were unavailable for a few months. I would be elated if this guitar is successful and is offered in other configurations in the future.

i love the jm pickup too but i won the chance to choose any modern player guitar and i chose this one cause i needed a humbucker... the humbucker mode is awesome on the triplebucker... but i still use the jm... i find it hotter than the single coil mode on the triplebucker... so when i need a singlecoil sound i go straight to the jm...

i can totally imagine this guitar in candy apple red or if they want it to look original, orange with red tortoise shell pickguard

Id love to see orange with tortoise shell PG and red racing stripes. Also i did editing in photoshop and changed the colour of the marauder and it is awesome in candy apple red. I also did lime green and surf green and they looked cool. Sonic blue and red PG would be good too. i just want a racing stripe and bright colours

I love Lake Placid Blue, but yeah, more colors would indeed be nice. I also agree with the notion that the triplebucker should be a unique characteristic of the Marauder.

This is a first generation Marauder. The only thing it has in common with the 1960s Marauder prototype is the name. For an example in the automotive world, Ford made several prototypes called Probe in the 1980s. They ended up introducing a car called a Probe but it had little in common with the show cars. Some of the purists are angered by this. I think the guitar would actually be more popular with a new name with no baggage. For another example from a car, the 2004-2006 GTO was an excellent car but was hampered by its name, even though the new GTO was quicker and faster than any of the original 64-74 GTOs. Purists hated the new GTO because they compared it to the original GTO. If it had had a different name it would have sold better.
