How well is the Marauder selling? I can see it not being popular and only being offered for a couple of years, even though I love the guitar. Will these be selling for twice their original value in 5 years?

Doubt it. It needs to be rare and desirable. There doesn't appear to be anything remarkable about these.

the only reason i would want one is because of the pickups and the way they are set up(how often do you see a triplebucker?), i think its a relatively ugly guitar tbh

The pickup setup is pretty unique. A triplebucker and a Jazzmaster pickup? What's not to love? The Squier 51 wasn't a remarkable guitar but it was fairly rare and prices have spiked. I can see a similar future for the Marauder. I'm planning on buying a Lake Placid Blue Marauder next month, and if they do indeed go out of production and are put on clearance, I'll buy a black one and depending on how cheap they are, I might horde a few. I love the guitar, it sounds and plays great and the price is right. The local guitar store has them at $336 which is a tremendous value for a guitar of this quality. IMO they're slightly higher in quality than the vaunted CV series of guitars, which are also tremendous values.

Another question about the Marauder is: On most of the Marauders that I've seen, the only decal on the headstock is the spaghetti Fender logo. The one that I played was like this. However, I saw an ad in a magazine that had "MARAUDER" on the headstock. Is this going to be a change for 2012? Do most Marauders not have the Marauder name on the headstock because Fender didn't decide on a name until the last minute? If I had a scanner that worked with Windows 7 I'd scan in the ad with the guitar with the name on the headstock.

There was nothing remarkable about the Tom Delonge Strat. It sold for 499.00 back in the day. Once discontinued a mint one can sell for up to 900.00

My Marauder just has the Fender logo on it, Plays amazing either way :D

LOL!!!

Thank you Bugo, now I'm curious why it was excluded from the headstock. The mystery continues....

What color is yours? I'm getting a LPB version. It will look nice sitting next to my LPB Strat.

Crap I traded my Tom Delonge for a basic MIM P Bass a year ago. I think the market has dropped on those things. Still should have ebayed it. You never do know if a guitar will be valuable. Look at Mustangs, Les Paul Jrs, Univox, etc. all cheap entry back in the day but way jacked up in price now. All depends on who the current popular rock star is that is holding one. All that maters is that you dig it and enjoy it. Hell I love my over priced Mustang and who buy it again even if I was guaranteed that it would be worth $50 in 20 years.

I got the black color which is funny because I'm not a huge fan of black, but the guitar plays better than my American Tele. Great neck on the Marauders.

The pickup setup is quite unique but I guess the new Marauder won't be that rare of a guitar. It needs to have a rare quality, if you know what I mean.
