Some people will call me crazy, I've just sold a Gibson Les Paul Studio and bought a Pawn Shop Mustang to replace it.

Yes getting rid of a USA guitar for made in Japan, but I just never took to the Les Paul and hardly touched it in 4 years.

The Mustang could be everything I've ever wanted in a guitar.

I've got small hands and the small scale neck is revelation to me. The pick up combinations are very cool, the Japanese build quality is wonderful.

What's really blown me away is the Lake Placid Blue colour. In the shop it didn't look like anything special and it's never been something that's grabbed me before. But get the guitar home and it just shines, it sparkles under lights and with the mint pick guard looks awesome.

I'm not a brilliant player, but this guitar has me so enthused I think it will help me really develop, plus here in Australia you don't see many.

The 24 inch scale Fenders are the only ones that can take my hands away from my les paul. Good choice one the Mustang your back will thank you for it! Still admiring my new Cobain Mustang and enjoying my HH Jag. Fender keep bringing more of the short scales to market.

Oh, and as for "crazy", I traded in a Fender (MIM) Strat for my Mustang!

never understood the hoopla about the MIJ fenders... i've got 2 MIJs now (Jaguar HH Special -with the Dragster pickups and full on electrics- and Pawn Shop Mustang Special), and their build quality has to be heaps above my MIM Cylone-II and every other MIM i've played in a store. The Cyclone-II stays in my arsenal though, the AVRI Jag pickups in it have to be the best tone i've ever had... until i got my Mustang Special. Not to mention, when i look for info on the Cyclone and come up with almost nothing for the jag-equipped one, just reminds me i was probly VERY lucky to get one.

Well it was only a Studio... :D

But seriously--the Pawn Shop Mustangs are quite nice.

I love my Mustang--and the Pawn shop ones have a very similar feel.

Enjoy...

Been away for a while... and been busy changing up my little Fender collection!

Now own the two in my signature pic.

Limited Edition FSR American Standard Natural
Thinline Telecaster with "F" Bigsby in Shoreline Gold. Heaviest darn Thinline I've ever held!
