Anybody who has had a finish defect, what did it look like? I think mine may have it as well, which would quite unfortunate, as it showed up a week after I swapped the pickups. Aftercthe initial chip, is it normal to be able to pick away a nitro finish with your fingernail, or is my guitar boned?

Just about ten or fifteen flakes around the edges, small thumb nail size to about half thumb nail.
Disappointing to see this on such a fabulous guitar. This is the second time after Fender re-made & re-painted the body. Hope to get my 50th Anniversary Jag back in April, for the second time.

And what of the chipping with little effort? Is that flaking, or just how nitro is?

I know there was no chipping, as in any knocks or dings. Just the paint flaking after a couple of weeks. I took real good care of it.
I spoke on the 'phone with a guy from Fender UK, he couldn't explain it either.
Anyway, just hoping they get it right this time.

Best wishes,
Kevin
