The Trem/Vibrato/Whammy is closer to the bridge on the the 50th anniversary than the vintage model. It's about the same as the Classic Player Jaguar body. But since there was a major flaw with yours, they probably don't want to "import" a Mexican body because you paid for a product built in the U.S.A.

Notice the distance between trem and bridge on my Vintage.

Here's Lizzy:

Wow, a great looker Art. I haven't seen one in pewter before...... and I must admit I never knew you could get a buzz stop. A couple of weeks before I sent my Jaguar back, I installed a Mustang bridge which I quite liked. It was better for tuning and it fixed the bit of fret buzz I was getting. Of course I put the original bridge back beforeI returned the Jag.

Kevin

Kevin,

The Buzz Stop won't fit the 50th Anniversary or the Classic Player because the trem is closer to the bridge. It should eliminate the need for a buzz stop. (unless you play really heavy.)

I'm heavy on my Telecaster, but not so heavy on the Jag or the Strat. This was filmed a few weeks before I got the Jag.

Do you play in a band Art?
I'd been using the Jaguar on 'One Way Ticket'. Suits the number, especially a great sound on the guitar break.
Talking about hair, this is the band I was with for ten years.
This is from 1977.
I bought the Telecaster second hand and replaced the top pick up with a Strat pick up, and me and the bass player had our guitars sprayed green!

Regards,
Kevin

Back in the day I did. Nowadays I play for my own enjoyment. Funny, now I have more gear and better mics. Can't beat the old 66 Twin Reverb I had back then though. Wish I still had it. I have my day job and play for relaxation now. But, who knows?

Hi Art,
My Fender Jaguar arrived back yesterday, looking good. I just finished setting it up and it's sounding great too. Just pondering a little about setting the height of the pick ups.

Kevin

Guess what??
The paint started to fall of the new body.......
The retailer put me in direct touch with Fender. I asked for a new one, the guy said they would be happy to give me one, but they don't have any.
He assured me that they did make & spray a new body at the US factory and ship it over, and all they can do is do it all over again.

Doesn't make any sense unless it is that damp UK weather.

Hi Art,
I spoke with a guy from Fender UK on the 'phone, he couldn't figure it either.
However, they sent their courier to my house and picked up the Jag, that was mid January.
Another new body then............. hopefully should get it back at the end of this months and the paint stays on. To be honest, it like waiting for Christmas when you're a kid.
Something forward to again............ lol.
Meanwhile, the Tele gets a bit more use.
Kevin.

Hey Kevin,
Sorry I replied so late. Been in the hospital. Just weird that laquer keeps flaking off. Maybe they are rushing it. There was quite a demand for those initially. My order went in through a Custom Shop "Showcase" dealer so I don't know if it is fair to compare the two. Possibly different QC. They should be identical but one never knows....
