I've been looking into getting a new guitar for quite some time now. I've been playing a standard strat and cannot bring myself to stray away from fender. I've always loved the looks and options of the jaguar hh. I don't care if it has the 'vintagy vibe' of a jaguar reissue, I just want a fender that is versatile and looks good. I'm trying to start a band that has a blend of tons of sounds, and I was wondering if any of you guys (those who own it, or have tried it) think it's up for the task.

It looks like a sweet guitar and it has the hardtail. I like the black color, I thought about getting this one.

Oh yeah, I've had mine since November 06. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Do you do some drop D tuning? I like the fact its a hard tail.

Yeah I've never really used tremelo much. I read something about the HH being similar to one of Kurt Cobain's Jaguars. I usually play in standard tuning.

You should try some Drop D tuning. Nirvana has some cools songs and Drop D so does Silverchair.
Even Eddie Van Halen has a Dropped D song.

Here's Kurts JAG. I am a big Nirvana Fan.

Hello All, first post here...

I really can't get over not having any sort of tremolo, or i would be all over this guitar...i'm still tempted to get one because it looks so cool!

By the way, On a plain, Lithium and All Apologies are also in Drop D...at least when I play them!

Dropped D sounds heavy, Lithium is in standard.

I learned to play guitar by playing nirvana songs. I still have the magazines.

I had a HH Jag and regretfully sold it. My only criticism is the pickups. If i bought another one i would upgrade the bridge pickup instantly.

I bought mine in july '07.
I really love this guitar! You get a supersound even with a quite cheap amplifier.

I play even more songs in drop D than standard tuning.
I'm a nirvana fan. Here you have me playing aneurysm. .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYRBHwWMgG0

But the Foo fighters have really great drop D songs!
Alone + easy target is my favorite.

Yeah that was the main thing I didn't like when I first got the guitar too. Not bright enough for my style. I still wanna switch it out but I'm hesitant to make any changes to the guitar at all.

I have to wonder how much serious difference there really is in the various HH Fenders -- Cyclones, Toronados, HH Stratocasters & HH Telecasters, Showmasters, etc., etc. -- aside from the unique qualities of the individual instruments. The pickups range from similar to identical and aside from any coil-splitting, the controls are all ultimately just V/T-cut & mix. :|

The big slab-bodied varieties, at least, must be awfully similar.
