Hi - I bought a fender 'music master' about 10 years ago from my local guitar shop, they advised it was made in '77.

It has had a 3 way pickup selector added as well as a bridge humbucker. The guitar doesn't have a model name on it, only 'Fender ' and the serial number on the headstock (S704417) I am about to list this on ebay as I need to clear some space and this guitar (although very nice) doesn't get much use these days. Would like to be as accurate as possible with the description, any ideas if the year and model are about right?

Also any ideas on a rough price? I paid about £300 when I bought it

Thanks in advance doods

That's a little tricky. It definately has some work done on it, as the musicmaster only had a single coil in the neck position. another thing was the control plate was made of chrome a-la- jaguar. Your best bet is to take her apart and check the pencil date in the neck heel and neck pocket, and possibly some identifying marks on the pups. I'd love to see some more pics. Either way, that's a cool little axe there!

Hi Guys, thanks for the info so far,

I the bridge pickup is a seymour duncan and is definitely a custom job as I previously had to have the scratchplate off to tighten the input jack.

Looking at the Bronco's they have a trem, this is a fixed bridge and looks to be original.

I think I will try looking at the base of the neck as suggested, would be good to be able to list it correctly

Thanks!!!

Looks like a 'J Serna' with a number 3274 - that doesn't really mean much to me I am afraid! anything to anyone else?

It's a 1977 Musicmaster.
The Bronco has a single bridge pick up.
Unmodified $625/$800.
