Hi, i'm having troubles to identify this vintage guitar, is owned by a friend of mine.

i've been doing an exhausting research about it, so far i can barely think that it's kind of a BassVI guitar, but not sure about it... it's supposed to be fender, but i'll not be sure about it until i have it on my hands.

No - not a Fender. Some kind of 60s-era knock off, probably Italian or Japanese.

+1

Most vintage Japanese guitars used a "zero" fret in lieu of a fitted hand-cut nut. I'm betting Italian for this one.

Looking at the pretty shonky way it's been cut, it might just be one that somebody's made themselves and stuck a Fender logo on it, i'm guessing they were trying to get the Fender Custom shape, which is a guitar made from Jaguar body leftovers (the shape just above the back strap button indicates this) and pretty much whichever neck was lying around at the time.
If it was actually made by a machine then it probably was the product of some Communist country.
But who cares, if it sounds ok then that's all that matters right?

Definitely not a Fender, but that doesn't mean it's not a nice instrument. A lot of the pick-ups on those knock-offs sound abso-f***in-lutely gorgeous, and they're the main reason those guitars are so hugely popular with the garage scene; they're cheap to buy, durable/not a big deal to wreck, and they sound great.

Indeed but if the neck bends like a bow, hard to play, ain't it ?

this is true, but it loks fairly well used so it can't be too bad.
