Cyclones are my personal favorite. Mustang, Musicmaster, Jaguar, Jazzmaster are right after the Cyclone for me. :)

Mustang, perfect scale, perfect sound. Perfect everything. You can leave them stock or mod them, they're just the best.

What is the greatest Fender guitar of all time?

The next one I plan to buy. That's the one.

I really like the Jaguar. i think it gives a warmer sound than the Strat or Tele plus the sound is pretty unique.

I don't really like Teles, but they were the original Fender workhorse. If they didn't sell so many, maybe Fender wouldn't have had the funds to research and design the rest. So that would make Teles the greatest.

My own guitars. Not that they REALLY are better than anyone elses, but you kinda get this relationship with your guitars. Mine's a Cyclone II. I really think that a V.G. Strat is great. It is a modeling guitar. It has such a vast tonal range. It can sound like a normal strat, tele, ash bodied strat, 2-humbucker strat, and 5 different acoustic sounds. I even think it can sound like a 12 string. It's great.

I heard the V.G was garbage and that the different tuning methods were really flimsy. does it really sound that bad?

The greatest Fender guitar is, in my humblest of opinions, the Telecaster. Virtually everybody has used one, it has been seen on countless stages and heard on innumerable albums; it has fueled professional careers and basement jams galore. Its looks are timeless; its sound, pure.

The Stratocaster, which seems to be garnering a majority of the votes here, would not exist today if it were not for the Tele. While the person who mentioned the P-Bass was, in a sense, right, I don't believe it has had the same longevity or broad-spectrum use as the Tele.

The Tele. No doubt.

The strat might have sold more, but when did that ever mean anything?

Seems a lot of people here like the Jag, so I guess I need to try one out.

I love my Telecaster, and I know I will love my Jazzmaster when it comes home soon, but I'd have to say that the Strat is the greatest all around Fender. When I've got a strat in hand, I don't feel there is any kind of music that I couldn't play on it.
