I am going to have a custom '62 Jag put together & was curious as to what people thought the best pickup configuration would be. I will definately have a rosewood fretboard. I play more rock & blues & like a good range of rich rhythm to jangly to loud lead. I was thinking of going HSS. What about HH chrome? Anyone's input would be appreciated.

Have you thought about P90's? with the standard Jag control system and parts values, maybe that would cover the range you're after.

I had a ridiculously high output h/b pickup in the bridge position so I put a variable coil tap (really blend) and found that range of tones myself, mostly with just a touch of second coil to thicken it up a little, great control and highly usable. I believe the Classic Player HH is wired that way, instead of a rhythm circuit the switch is a kill switch and the roller pots are coil blends.

Cheers, Steve.

That's something I really didn't think about when I ordered mine. I figured HH I could get stock on the CP Jaguar. I really went CS because I wanted a special color. But since that forced it into the CS, I made a few demands, Bridge and pickguard.

One thing I did specify, was that I did not want ANY issues with the bridge. So, it came from Fender CS with a Buzz Stop preinstalled.

The fretwork on this Jag is awesome!!
