Pretty sweet. And it looks like it's "all there" and never been abused.

I've seen guitars like this going for $350 and better on Ebay.

Righteous score!

It's actually a Global, small body, short scale. Yes, in good shape. Didnt know if the PUs, pots and switches would work and I didnt really care for $20 but they do, not very scratchy at all. Incidentally I do have a Global bass as well, 70s. They're all laminated wood which cheap electronics and hardware but it stood the test of time. PUs are Hound Dog Taylor sound, no frills. The action was really high, I loosened the truss rod all the way, put a fresh set of 11s and lowered the bridge piece as much as it goes without buzzing. Still a little high but much better, playable enough to fool around with.

Guitar was on CL advertised as part of a community yard sale but no one replied to my email. Decided to ride the bike around that neighborhood this morning, long shot but sure enough drove up a hill and at the end of the road there it was laying against a wall. Guess it was meant to be. It fitted right into my backpack and there I was, guitar neck sticking out riding back home at 60 mph on the highway, needless to say I got many looks.

That would've made for a perfect "You won't part with yours either" ad photo!

I like it. I really like browsing eBay for off brand guitars. I really like Teisco and Sekova. I might try to get a couple in the next year or so.

You and me, both!

In August of that year I'd be buying my first brand-new Fender amp (silverface Super Reverb) and the following year, my first Strat (a used sunburst '66).

Rawk on!

Actually, I was born in 73 so no memory for me. Still, it seems it would have been the era for me.
