This took me by surprise, can't find any details on this website about it in the product session yet. Price looks cheap even for Mexican made unless its on par with say a fender standard MIM strat. Available in black and par placed blue. Has a jazzmaster pup in neck, and a triplebucker in bridge.

Anyone seen anything on this? Looks weird but would love to hear one and see what the switching on the pickups is like.

It's not a reissue, it's part of the Modern Player Series. It's more along the lines of the Pawn Shop series with twists on classics. I have heard that it is going to be Made In China although I haven't heard a confirmation. Most likely in the same factory of the CV Series.

Only part of the Marauder it has is the body... No cool hidden pickups, doesn't have more switches than a space shuttle, etc. :(

Still going to check it out though... 8)

Looks nice with that triplebucker and tremolo there. But what is koto? It says the body's made out of koto wood. How does a koto wood guitar sound like, compared with ash/alder bodies?

I'm familiar with the differences between ash/alder and basswood/agathis, I know how pine sounds like too, but I've never heard of koto wood until now.

These are Crafted In China. Same as Classic Vibes. Crafted is supposed to be much better than Made In China because it's made by craftsmen.

Who cares where it's made. If you like it. It doesn't matter. My Dodge Ram was made in Mexico....and still it's considered an American truck.

BastardN,

Thank you for saying this! I couldn't agree more. I own several nice guitars, some made in China and some in America, but all that really matters in the end is how the guitar plays and feels to the player.
