A friend of mine asked me to help him build a Jazzmaster for around $450. He came to me because he knows that I can find deals on parts everywhere, but this is giving me some serious trouble. Help?

He was into it for the floating bridge.

It would be very hard to modify the Squier to take the floating bridge.

With absolutely no sarcasm intended, all the aforementioned is essentially all there is, especially if you've been locked into that tight a budget.

That was just the main plus. He also wanted sort of a different mojo and he really liked the ones he played in the stores. Maybe there's a good blacktop one. Those are always cheaper.

you could grab a body off ebay or even one of the guitar mill "summer blowout" ones for around $125. For the neck you could use a strat neck, probs find one for super cheap. bridge and trem you could get from the site martian posted or ebay, around $100 total.

Have him look into the Blacktop Jazzmaster. They're all over the internet for $499.

Check out the new Squier J. Massics Jazzmasters. I think street price is going to be around 380.00.
