Howdy from Texas, I have a 1994 '62 Japanese re-issue Jazzmaster (limited edition, blonde w/ gold hardware) and I need some help with the tremolo. It seems that the spring may have lost it's bounce, as I have lost nearly all the dive out of it. When I pull up on the trem arm, I can get nearly 1 1/2 steps sharp in pitch; but pushing down, I get nearly no dive. The guitar is set up with GHS TNTs (10-52) and is tuned to "E". Anyone in Fender-land have an idea as to what is going on here, or any suggestions?

If the Trem arm is threaded at the guitar end (not snap on) there should be a coil spring in the part that the arm screws in to. GC sells a small bag of 10 or 12 for about $10. It is the same spring that is used in Strat Trems.

Good luck,
John.E

this is the push in trem arm. I have added a nut to the end of the collet to keep the are from falling out while playing. The problem I'm having is with the sping on the underside of the bridge where the trem lock and adjusting screw are. I took her apart last night and did some adjusting, but I still have no dive. I think it may be time to take her to the guitar man

I just passed on some info on a similar thread in this section that might be helpful if noboby chimes in here. Here is the website with lots of great questions and answers on troubleshooting offset guitars
http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/index.php. I am not affiliated or have anything to do with this website except offer some other help that may not be found here. That is all.Good luck
