Those knobs show up on Ebay from time to time. I've seen them a couple of times over the last year. Replacement parts for the tremolo can be found at www.wammiworld.com. I have no affiliation with that website, but I have ordered some parts from them once.

I love the HM Strat and I wish that they would've offered it in "normal" fender colors and headstock logos. The pink, green, blue color schemes are ugly, even for 1988.

I've got a frankenstein HH Strat. I had never seen the HH version until I found this one. I paid $250 for it about a year ago. You can see some pictures of it at www.tastyshake.net.

New user and saw this thread so I figured I'd post too :D . My HM is a mutt. My dad picked up the guitar for $100 out of a pawn shop in Peoria IL. This was in 1999/2000. We couldn't do anything with it because the truss rod inside the neck was broken. It had the all maple neck too. We took it to the local shop and we argued about the neck being one piece or having the board laminated (which it clearly did. Those guys were blind). We figured we could just strip the neck and apply heat to loosen the laminate on the board to get to the truss rod. Well, my dad got a little overzealous and destroyed the entire fret board. We figured it wasn't a major loss so I just kept the body around and parted stuff out for it. I was 16/17 and had other guitars.

As I got older I decided I wanted to put this thing back together and get a neck for it. Come to find out that this model does NOT use a standard fender scale neck. None of the dimensions match (the heel width is 1/8" wider than a standard strat neck, plus it's a 24 fretter and the radius is super flat - 17") and no one makes a replacement. Plus I rarely saw these things parted out on ebay. Well I got lucky one day and snagged a neck off a 1991 model (my body is from 1988) for $200. I got it in, put it together, wired it up with a DiMarzio Evolution in the bridge (I gave the Super 3 to a friend. Wish I hadn't but oh well), a HS-2 in the middle and an Air Norton S stacked humbucker in the neck. This was in 2009, almost 10 years after I got the thing and it's playable. It's black, but it suffers from some extreme belt buckle rash on the back and some deep pick scratches on the front, plust some other nicks and dings. I've thought about refinishing it, but part of me likes it too much the way it is. The battle scars give it character. And playability? It's my favorite guitar by far. Plays like a dream, the Spyder holds tune amazingly well (the nice thing about the newer neck is it has the Floyd Rose lock nut too) and I can do dive bombs and squeals all day long with it, and that pickup combo I put in smokes. The in between positions give me all those cool glassy single coil sounds (I have everything set up to tap in those positions and still use the mini toggle from the bridge pup) and the 1 and 5 positions give full humbucker glory. Out of all the Super-Strat guitars, these ones are my favorites. It's been a journey with this thing too. Out of the 11/12 years I've had it, it's only been playable for the last couple. And putting it back together and making it sing again was super rewarding and an awesome experience for myself. If money comes available I'd love to get another one. Preferably that magenta color. Nothing says 80s like a hot pink guitar.

I just received an HM Strat Sunday. It is a 1989 model with dual humbuckers and an original Floyd Rose. The humbuckers are a red lace sensor at the bridge and a hot rails at the neck. This guitar is in incredible condition for being 23 years old as there is only one noticeable nick on the whole thing. It has also had a second tbx tone knob installed. Included was the original hard shell case too! My pastor called me up on stage Sunday and said the Lord told me to give you this. That's how I got this amazing guitar. I'm enjoying it as much if not more than my custom shop les Paul.

I am a 17 year old player. I've had my Strat Squier (my first guitar). I literally just got this guitar today for my birthday and I love it. I am so thankful to my parents for getting it for me. It really is a nice guitar.

and found the Serial number
it is as follows
st-556 there is an M under the 6
then there is some sort of Red Stamp near it can not make that out either
cant make it out because some one painted the neck joint blue to match the rest of the body
I only found this number when taking the paint off to fill screw holes and stain it
Cant find a neck for it

id this had been a run of the mill strat I would be ripping Rino Flesh by now
