Yes... it sounds crazy, but I've had a Classic Player Jaguar for almost two years and I recently upgraded to an AVRI Jaguar. After playing them both, I actually decided that I like the feel of the Classic Player neck a little better. I have small hands, so it seems a little thinner and feels more comfortable to play. I also like the 9.5" radius. I don't get as much fret buzz. So I was wondering if anyone has ever put a Classic Player neck on an AVRI body or if this would even work. Are the necks and/or the neck pockets the same size? Has anyone ever tried this before?

Welcome.

Both necks are 24" with the bolt configurations/neck pockets being the same so there should be no problem thus far. Two things to consider though: First, the outright height of the necks. By this I mean, the height from the bottom of the the neck (the flat part where it accepts the 4 bolts) to the peak of the fingerboard straight up (the highest point of the radius, literally in between the G and D strings). Second, check the pocket depths (where the neck fits into the body) too. I've seen differences in neck heights and/or pocket depths even with identical model Fender guitars so do these measurements first before committing to the swap.

Bear in mind though that if you do the swap (and I'm sure you're aware of this any way), both guitars will have to be completely set up all over again.

Hey, thanks for the info. It's kind of hard to be 100% sure, but the necks seem like they're about the same height. The neck pocket was what I was wondering about, too. The Classic Player supposedly has a different angle in the neck pocket, so I wasn't sure if that would affect it or not. I guess the easiest way to find out is just to try it out and see if it works. If not, I can just switch it back. I just didn't want to go through all that trouble if it definitely would not work. But, yeah, I figured I'd have to get it set up again for it to play properly. Thanks again for the help.

Any time and I hope it works out for you.

The CP neck has a 9.5" radius as opposed to 7.25" on the AVRI. You'll need a bridge that matches the 9.5" radius.

I've got it covered. Mastery Bridge on it already.

Are you on OSG? I think I've seen your name there.
