That's very strange, what model do you have?I've had mine for 5 years and even though I don't play it daily a battery lasts for months. There must be some kind of problem with yours in particular where the pickup is always on.BTW do you unplug the jack cable when you finish playing as some electric acoustics stay on as long as there is a jack in its output.

You didn't say how long you've had the guitar. Fender's electronics should be warranty-covered for one year, in most cases.

I can't begin to tell you what the specific problem is, but one thing is certain in my mind -- something in the guitar's circuitry is drawing current constantly and draining the battery. It may be as simple as a bad output jack which is keeping the preamp turned 'on' even when the cord is unplugged, or it could be something defective in the preamp itself, or in the power supply. It's impossible to say for sure, without running some tests on the guitar's circuits. But those are some possibilities.

If you aren't skilled at electronic troubleshooting, then I would advise you to take it to a competent guitar tech and get him to check things out. If the electronics part of the warranty is still active and it turns out to be a manufacturing defect, then Fender should repair or replace your guitar.

If it's out of warranty, then you're looking at paying someone to repair it, or replace the pickup/preamp system if the problem can't be fixed.
