Hello!

I'm Simon, from Australia - long time lurker, first time poster.

I just wanted to ask about the Fender Lead series (late 70's, early 80's). I learned to play on my friend's brother's Lead II, and I think they're genuinely underrated guitars. You'll sometimes see them turn up for sale, online and elsewhere, but not too often. And the ones that do turn up are sometimes a little the worse for wear, which is hardly surprising, given their age.

I just wondered if there were any plans for a re-issue? Since many of the cool Fender guitars of yesteryear have been revived in this way, I thought the Lead series might be due for this treatment.

Are there any plans for a re-issue? I thought this'd be the place to ask.

Cheers!

Simon....I too love the Fender Leads! You're right, they're very undervalued guitars.

As far as a reissue is concerned...I would doubt it very seriously.

Check out this link...you'll dig it!

I have one I'm looking to get rid of... Don't play it enough to justify having it. I think it's about an '81. I bought it used, and as I said, I've hardly played it. It's got some mileage on it. Let me know if you're interested...

Lunchbox, I'd definitely be interested. Please send me an email regarding the details. The PM function doesn't seem to work, so please feel free to email me (the addy is in my profile).

Many thanks!

BellewsMusic, thank you for that link. That's a really informative site! I really like it a lot.
