Hello,

I purchased this guitar from new in 2008 but have never known the original date/year when built. I've tried to do some research on it but have had no luck! I'm aware that the Korean factory has closed down but I do not know the date of that either which would have helped.

I believe it is a fairly limited design/model. The information I have is that:

Made in Korea

Serial Number: 03091674

Some pictures:

So if anyone can help me find out it's age or any other information on the factory I would appreciate it,

Cheers

I wish someone could help. I have 05022201 and never have found any source that would give us a clue. Fender parts couldn't even supply me with a new trem cover (almost the same as a strat, but diff. middle holes). Repost if you ever find anything out.

I have a strong feeling it consists of differnt parts from past Fender models. They were produced before they opened the USA California Factory in 2001 (i believe).

I also own a Fender Highway 1 USA Strat and have plaued many other fender models so I compared them. It seems to have a thinner nexk than a strat so possibly a Tele neck with a different finish.

The body however is different to that of a tele, jazz, jagaur, strat etc so this is really diffifcult. The only thing i can think of is that it was an original piece of wood ready to be shaped and they chose this design along with one simialr to a tele design.

The hardware is unbranded so this could be stock parts that were imported in. However I wouldn't say my self that they're bad quality as there not. The pick up's could be those used simialr to todays blacktops.

Finally the headstock logo is an original one but the finish of it is still unique compared to it's brother and sisters.

WOW, that is the same as mine, goldie with no markers! Pllleeeaaasseee, can you reply with the correct wire colors to the five way. I am replacing the switch, my friend sez" sure" and desoldered all the leads , and was using the factory posted wiring, does not apply, as these are Dimarzio equipped. PLEASE help, if possible.I have another thread started with "showmaster goldtop" in the title, asking for the wiring set up at the 5 way. You could save a fellow rockers life! lol

Both the Fender Showmaster and Toronado were manufactured in Korea by Cort. Cort's serial number (at least after 2000) is basesd on the year/month/production run number of the guitar: YYMMXXXX

For example, serial number 05022201 would have been made in February 2005.

Serial number 03091674 would have been made in September 2003.

I have a black HH Showmaster with the Duncan Humbuckers, Floyd Rose tremolo, and a reverse headstock. It has skull and crossbones on the even frets and big one painted on the body. I think it was produced in '01 in Korea. I've never seen another one like it because it was produced shortly and then stopped due to licensing problems. I picked it up at a local pawn shop for $150 in 2008 and I wouldn't sell it for $1000. It is a great guitar. I posted a youtube link to me playing it.
