Hey y'all.

I tried a Jag in a local guitar store and loved it...the only problem was that i couldn't (and still can't) figure out what ALL the switches do...

If someone could like, directly tell me what they did (or annotate a picture or something) that would be great.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

the switch on the top horn switches between the rythym and lead circuits. when the switch is up, you can only use the neck pickup and the roller knobs. when the switch is down you use the standard knobs and the three switches in the diamond-shaped control plate. these three switches, in order from closest to the neck:
1. neck pickup on/off
2. bridge pickup on/off
3. strangle switch, essentially makes the guitar very treble-y and cuts out bassier sounds.

it seems complicated at first, but once you get used to it, it's pretty simple.

Thanks...I tried on another forum but the people there just posted links to websites that don't really tell you anything.

I loved the tone (think it was MIJ) and wanted something a bit different to a Strat...but was a little apprehensive buying a guitar I wouldn't be able to work.

Thanks again.

no problem
jaguars are great guitars. they have an undeserved reputation as a one-trick pony, but i have found my CIJ to be very versatile.

I own a Jaguar myself, & I play it all the time, the tones are beautiful, the action is fantastic, It's a great guitar for pretty much any style of music, with the right switch settings you can get that country "twang", or for rock you can get the screaming highs that you need. Change the settings by adding a little more bass and you can get a great blues tone. The Jaguar is such a versatile guitar that I'm in the process of buying another one, this time I'm going for the Baritone Special Jaguar.
