Well boys and girls. I have sprayed the primer, wet-sanded 400. And sprayed the first coat of black. I wet-sanded it to 400. I just finished spraying the second coat of black. It is looking spectacular for my first time restoring a guitar.

I do have an idea I want to throw at ya'll. I have some candy red. I was thinking of continuing spraying the black to get a good base layer down. What would ya'll think of spraying the candy red in a traditional sunburst design.

P.S. I will have new pictures up once I offload them from my phone. :D :D :D

I will say 1 thing, impatience got the best of me. now im filling in little bubbles. I accidentally left it under the curing lamps to long. I've finally filled in all the little pits that came from the bubbles. I think I will take it to an auto body shop to see if they will let me use there paint booth to get the clear to cure so i can start wet sanding and polishing. I am also interested in scalloping the fretboard. I'm learning all these processes for the first time and I think it would be cool to do all of this stuff to this guitar as a starting point for future builds.

well guys, its been a few months. I've been really busy, and finally got some time to finish my guitar project. All i am waiting on now is my fretwire to come. There are still some small things to finish up. Like wiring, a screw is missing on the temp bridge. So here are the final pics. Hopefully you'll like em.

The name slips my mind, but its this jaguar they made in vietnam. It's not an official jag, but some of them are collectable because of the stones. Mick Jagger had a black one with a matching headstock on a stones album cover. Its called like a serviceman Jag, research it.

wow checked them out... pretty much checks out to his story... he got a good one though (except for that neck with a metal bar instead of a truss rod)... i've researched some of the guitars they made in vietname and some of them are pretty sickening

During the Vietnam war there were several shops in the Philippines making copies of various American brands and returning GI's often brought these guitars back to the States when they completed their tours. Yours looks like one of these. Frankly I wouldn't put a dime or a farthing into saving this "instrument". Better to let it be a wall decoration and buy yourself a real Fender.

i was there in SUBIC BAY P.I.and they made exact copies of fenders, but there was'nt any quality.
