I have found my vintage(?) Fender Jaguar after a 9 year hiatus. After all the research i've done in the past few days, nothing seems to line up right except for the headstock.
There are no serial numbers on the neck or anywhere, only B2 scribed in the neck and body.
Plus the Body is hollowed out and looks nothing like normal bodies.
It does not have a normal looking bridge for a Jaguar. Only a triangle shaped bridge being held up by two bolts.
Here are some reference pictures.

Thank you for any information,
Daniel

+1

Bogus as a seven-dollar bill.

Is there any idea of what it actually is. Or is it just a pile of stuff put together to resemble a good guitar

clean it up and play it... it isn't a jag but it is still a guitar. clean it up, string it and play it like you stole it.

During the Vietnam war there were several shops in the Philippines making copies of various American brands and returning GI's often brought these guitars back to the States when they completed their tours. Yours looks like one of these. Frankly I wouldn't put a dime or a farthing into saving this "instrument". Better to let it be a wall decoration and buy yourself a real Fender.

i say fix it and play it... it's not a fender but i'm a big fan of the jazzmaster/jaguar shape i think it looks pretty acurate and it's a beautiful guitar plus you could always put in a new tremolo and i suggest a tone-o-matic bridge give it a good fix up (with this you could learn how a guitar works it's a pretty good excuse to learn ;) ) and you could have a real good custom jaguar in your hands study the jaguar to help you out on your quest and look for parts that'll give you a nice sounding quality guitar

These "G.I. fake Fenders" are also known to not have adjustable truss rods. Yours seems to have a steel reinforced neck. As long as the neck isn't too far gone, you should be able to buy a bridge and string it up, set string height and get the guitar to a playable condition. About the neck : Make sure there are no serious humps, twists, excessive back-bow (which may not "relieve" under string tension) and that the frets are level and polished up real smooth. Then ensure the nut is cut decent and not too worn out or damaged :) This could turn out to be a really fun project!!!!!

my thoughts exactly... didn't notice the reinforced neck though... has this ever existed in real guitars i never noticed this tecnique... are there any advantages of this over the truss rod?... if you decide to go for it good luck ;)

Thanks guys and gals. It's been really fun doing research on the fender line a guitars. I appreciate the info. I would have never figured out that it was phillipino. I guess what I'm gonna do is fix it up with newer pickups, bridge, and tremble system. The neck is in good shape. So I think it would be a good learner guitar for a kid that wants to play guitar.

feel free to use it putting various parts in your guitar it's almost as if it were a warmoth guitar... you could even consider it a partscaster if you may... how much did you pay for it?

I didn't pay anything for it. My father I assume brought it back from Vietnam. He gave it to me about 20 yrs ago.

I'm in the same boat u are. I've already started sanding it down to wood. Once I realized it was a copy. I started working on it. Now I'm looking for a creative color that looks good. I dont necessarily care if it it looks vintage. It's sorta gonna turn into a restomod.
