How can I get an accurate and honest quote on my original 62 Jazzmaster?

It has been repainted (white - now looks cream) and has been re-fretted and has a replacement graphite nut).
I am sure that these practical alterations depreciate the value, but imho the guitar is better than it was prior to these changes.

please help!

unfortunately -the re paint was not a factory job, it has cracks now - presumably from temperature change and a few dings. The guitar was my Mom's and she taught guitar to kids and they were less than gentle on the equipment. Mom just wanted the kids to be able to enjoy a quality guitar to play on if they didn't have one.

I do have the original case and accessories - bridge cover, trem arm - but not the original paperwork. The serial ? on the neck joint plate is 58064 - not sure if you have to remove the neck to see the born on date etc.

I will upload some pics when I can.

Thanks for your help!!

Your guitar may or may not have a slab board. I would guess that it does have a slab board, which is more desirable IMO.

Lam-boards were introduced across the line in mid 1963 though slab boards continued to be used on an irregular basis until the existing inventory was finally exhausted. Very early examples of the '63 lam-board may be seen with the original "wide" dot spacing at the twelth fret.
