Yeah, should have maybe put in the general discussion forum. No idea yet on any pros cons etc, but will let you know once I have had time to mess around with it, and then give it a play.

;)

i've heard the bridge is problematic (it rattles for example)... is that true?... on your gigbag case i checked out your gigbag and it looks alright 15mm padding is pretty effective... never heard of the brand though... how much you payin?

Well, so far so good, no rattle, solidly built and no hum like others have had. I have read here that the screws on the bridge come loose after a few plays, so I've bought some Loctite 'Lock n seal' (The same as Loctite blue, which is the USA equivalent). for when such an occasion should arise. I've given it a good blast today, and found it to be a really nice play, although 2 of my fingers have split a bit on the frets, as they are a bit sharp (My finger tips are well worn, so may have to do something about this). I'm pleased I seem to have got a good one of these, rather than the friday afternoon, monday morning made ones most people seem to have bought. I'm fairly pleased with the humbuckers, as I wasn't looking for a classic JM sound, so am fairly pleased there. To be honest for the money I paid for it £455, I'm more than happy. I will post pics when I have the time, but it's the black one with mint pickguard if anyone is interested - my next quest is MIA Tele, not sure what though yet!
As regards the gig bag, I ordered one of those I mentioned, sounds great value for the money, and is foam padded - so the jobs a good one! Fusion make a great many instrument bags/cases etc, here is a link to their website: http://www.fusion-bags.com/. They seem to cover everything, very reasonably priced from what I can make out. A friend bought one and had it delivered saturday, so I checked it out and ordered one for the JM, as I don't have the funds for expensive cases, the best I have is a Hiscox for my Gibson SG special, but that's my Rolls Royce guitar, so it gets the preferential treatment - I'd do the same if I bought an expensive Fender though.

:)

yeah the bag looks like it's worth it actually :) enjoy the guitar i love the jazz

I hope you do too my friend! :D . They are reasonably priced for what you get I suppose. I have seen the Squier one, it's not too good, although like you say - the finish is great. I was thinking of going with a classic player JM. or Jaguar, but the price was way high for me, and still is to be honest. I'm more a Tele/SG player anyway, but this has helped broaden my scope a bit, and in all fairness I've never bought a guitar yet with a whammy bar, so that is nice too. I like the way this whammy bar pushes in and holds, when I bought the Mustang (A few months back bought a Mustang and returned it to the shop for a refund), I found it to be a real pain in the a** having to use an alum key every time, just to tighten the damn bar.

if you like a whammy in my personal opinion the coolest whammy out there would be the strat one... with a good setup it's got potencial and you could still do diferent tunings (i drop d live) unlike the floyd... i'll be honest i'm a strat freak myself and i know how they say everyone likes the strat but believe me it's very versatile and it has it's own voice if you like to "broaden your scope"
