I just procured this fine instrument from the second owner who traded a 1965 red Mustang for this in 1967 just as you see it. Not a screw turned until today! I need to know if anyone can tell me if this was a NAMM or trade show guitar? Image

Nice Jazzmaster! Are you sure that is the original color and wasn't a re-spray? I'm not saying it isn't, just have never seen one in that color and don't recall ever seeing purple sparkle on Fenders color chart until the recent J. Masics signature Jazzmaster.
Nonetheless, sweet guitar! :)

If you look at the neck pocket, the decal, the finish checking, under the guard, etc., there is no evidence of any other color or colors other than what you see here today. I once saw a Telecaster painted a rainbow of different sparkle colors with a glow in the dark feature that was completely Fender factory original from 1967 or 68 if I remember correctly and obviously not on any color chart. I'm just looking for some sort of conformation in regarding trade show and NAMM guitars from this era. I appreciate all of the help.

That's a modern chart... I don't think it would be relevant.
