I think this would be a good idea. But maybe make it similar to the Pawn Shop Mustang, with a strat hard tail. Because most people aren't fans of odd vibratos.

thats just daft IMO it should be about how it plays not what it says on the headstock.

One question ans excuse my ignorance :
What makes a guitar {Fender?} a blacktop ?
I have heard many guitars described as such but I can't pick the common denominator .

this is pretty recent... in summer of 2010 fender created a series of guitars (most likely based on the garage rock punk grunge era in which almost everyone started putting humbuckers on their guitars to cope better with distortion) in which these guitars are built for that raw fat humbucker rock tone... this is why we want a blacktop mustang and what better examples of a reason to make this guitar if not kurt cobain and one of the sonic youth guitarrists?... not only is it a cool series but it's also an affordable one pretty popular among everyone... resuming a blacktop fender is considered that way because it belongs to the blacktop series... they are still in production today if you are intressted

check the products and look at the blacktop series i think you'll get it... i think the objective of the series is to mark the punk rock and grunge era... not all fenders with humbuckers are blacktops (the fat strat and the tele deluxe for example are not blacktops) just the ones in the blacktop series...

http://www.fender.com/products/blacktop

with this i think you'll get it

wasn't i clear in my last post?? i know its all about how it plays, how it feels and such and such. if you had a choice between a identical sounding gibson or fender, which one would you choose? i'd choose fender, cause fenders my favourite guitar making company. am i not making this clear?

I'm with it ! But I think it should have 2 humbuckers (from fender), with the jaguar lead and rhythm circuits 8)
