I'm going to buy a guitar soon and i was wondering what kind (classical or acoustic) i like alternative rock music (Selena Gomez,Demi Lovato) but i also like country music (Taylor Swift,Carrie Underwood) ,soo i need help.i know the difference and i know how each of them sound but i don't know which guitar is better if you've never played a guitar before and you're a beginner..So if anyone can give me advice that would be awesome!!
-Thank you.

Well, classical guitar is generally used for playing classical music... so I would say acoustic...

Based on what you listen to (exclusively pop, it would seem) I'm just a bit confused as to why classical would even be considered here? :?

This will be just MY opinion. Classical guitar's have HUGE necks, bad for beginners. Acoustics have thicker gauge strings than most electric players would ever use, also bad for beginners. Also, a cheap acoustic guitar will likely come with the action so high you will not be able to comfortably fret it. My advise would be to start out on an electric guitar, because the neck is generally the same size as an acoustic guitar, but the action will be lower and MUCH easier to fret. But if you must have an acoustic, do yourself a favor and buy one in the $500 range.......that's about the only way to get one that will be likely ready to go out of the box. :D Good luck and many years of making music!!!!!
