Blacktop guitars are amazing with their ferocious humbucking pickups and skirted amp knobs. Especially the Jaguar and the Jazzmaster look fabulous!

I think Fender should add a Mustang guitar on the Blacktop series, finished in black with white competition racing stripes and a 3-ply black pickguard, featuring three Seymour Duncan mini humbuckers and a 3-way toggle like Thurston Moore's modified 3-pickup Mustang. :D

They did reissues of the competition models a couple of years ago.

i love the competition stripe idea but i think 3 mini humbuckers is too much i think it would look cooler the way kurt cobain had his mustang (one single coil on neck one full humbucker on bridge) only i'd put a 3 way toggle switch like you said... it would look more like a blacktop model you gotta admit that... or do an hh configuration

You guys have very specific ideas and opinions. Why not have a local luthier put one together for you? It's not like the parts are unavailable!

Other popular short-scale guitars and basses such as the Tornado, Cyclone, Musicmaster, Duo-Sonic and Mustang Bass can also get the Blackout treatment.

It's sad that Fender discontinued the Tornado and the Cyclone, though

I'd keep the on/off switches so you can have it in/out of phase--and a coil split or series/parallel option.
