Hello All

I was hoping for a little help. I am considering buying the above guitar after some fairly length road testing. However, I realised that I have never seen the gig bag it comes with. Does anyone have a few pictures of it that I can have a look at?

See if it's no good then I'll consider buying a case (arround £150) and if that is the case (no pun intended) then it makes the more expensive Jazzmaster 62 Vintage seem a little less expensive.

Anoyingly I haven't managed to paly a Jazzmaster 62 yet only the Jaguar model. I prefer the 9.5 radius neck due to string choking with bends arround 12th fret up (same 7.25 inch neck on US 62 Jaguar and Jazzmaster). Can someone give me a subject view on whether the sound difference between the Mex Classic Player and the USA 62 Jazzmaster models is that noticeable. That is to say is it worth paying the extra and would you consider the Mex instrument a pro model.

Thanks to anyone lending a hand,

Robert

The gig bag that my classic series strats came in (10 years ago) were very good quality. But I have seen some pretty cheap gig bags lately, from Fender and Gibson. Go ahead and invest the extra $150 for a good hardshell case! A gig bag helps protect from small bumps, but if you drop it or it falls over then it won't do much protecting. Also, the Fender gig bag that it comes with will not be water-proof, or water resistant! A gig bag is designed more for carrying a guitar than protecting it. Get a real case, your guitar will thank you!

+1000!

If it's worth having, it's worth protecting.

The CP Jazzmaster is a nice instrument.

But be advised that a few reviewers whose opinions I respect, cite the tremelo system on the guitar to still be as troublesome as it was the first time around. Fender don't appear to have resolved the essential difficulties presented by it's over complex design. Expect squeaks, rattles and poor return to pitch performance. The system needs setting up very carefully by someone experienced and almost constant maintenance after that.

But if you're planning to lock it down, then no worries.

As for a case, take the gig bag offerered - not too bad at all. Then buy a good case when you've re-couped your finances after the purchase of the guitar.

+1 The bag is the "Deluxe" gigbag and is nicely padded, get a hardshell later on if you're traveling around a lot.
I've had my CP for about a year now and find the different bridge and steeper break angle do calm down the usual JM issues.

Cheers,
John.E

I have the CP Jazzmaster. The gig bag is nothing special, so I quickly replaced it with a hard case from eBay. 8)
