ok- my brother put in some upgraded tuners and a new pickup in his 78 musicmaster. so far so good...

we wonder if it would be good to replace the stock pots too. don't know what came with this axe, but should we go with 250 or 500 pots? are their advantages to each?

if so, what are the dimensions of the original pots? i know they come in different sizes, so any reccomendations would help.

he has owned this guitar for 30 years and just loves it, so we want to do some basic mods to pump it up a little

If the pots in their now work I would leave alone or clean them. But if you replace them look and see what the ohms are it should say on the pot most likly its a 250k pot. The most common are 250kohm for single coli pickups gives a slightly warmer tone and their is 500kohm and are used for humbuckers. you can get them any where like stewmac, ebay, online
