wow, am I the only one with one of these? If anyone has even some knowledge, I'd love to hear (or should I say read) it.

I used to have one of those. As far as I can tell you know more than I do. I bought mine in November of '95 new. I was told that it was limited, but I didn't know much else about it. I sold it in 2003 after college, I needed the money. I got $350.00 for it after I had paid $800.00 in '95. I've read that the MIJ's of that time don't have the correct pick up specs and do not sound quite like the originals.

I picked up a J Mascis series, which I can tell you is very different from my former blonde on blonde. It has jumbo frets, tune-o-matic bridge and anodized aluminum pick guard. The pick ups are to spec now as well. I am waiting to get an amp, so I can't really talk about those pick ups quite yet, but the feel and play of the guitar is much better in my opinion. You can switch out your bridge for a tunomatic, and replace the neck. I'm not sure if they make a gold hardware tunomatic. You can also get better pickups too.

Seeing your blonde on blonde brings back fond memories. I wish I still had that guitar, I would have just done the modifications. I hope this helped.
